“Confidence Passbook” Drawing Competition 2009-2010

"Confidence Passbook"

"Live under the Rainbow of Harmony"
Objective
The objectives are to encourage the new generation, to enhance their self-confidence and to promote universal unity and harmony.
"Passbook" is a record of wealth. Our new generation not only needs a bank passbook, but also a "Confidence" passbook, which is more meaningful and valuable for their personality development. ICEHK is privileged to cooperate with a well-known American printer [Lotus Printing Inc.] and publisher [Linda Publishing Ltd.] to create a "Confidence Passbook". The "Confidence Passbook" will be compiled from selected entry artwork of individuals from different boundaries that express "Live under the Rainbow of Harmony".

Categories
- For secondary, primary and infant students
Age Groups
- Group A – Infants Section : 5 yrs or below
- Group B – Junior Section : 6-12 yrs
- Group C – Senior Section : 13-19 yrs
Titles of Artwork
- Paintings & drawings should express the theme of the competition, e.g. Confidence, Self-confidence, Universal Unity, World Harmony, etc.
Rules
- Each entrant should not submit more than one entry. Size should not exceed 45 x 45 (cm).
- Please note. When submitting entry please avoid folding.
- All entrants must fill in an entry form. Entrant’s "entry label" should be cut and affixed on the back of entrant’s artwork. Writing on the artwork is not acceptable.
- All artwork submitted must be the original idea and creation of the credited entrant. Copying of any pre-existing image is not acceptable, whether visually or by tracing. Coloring in an outline printed or drawn by someone else is also not acceptable. Any artwork that is found to be not of the original work of the participant will be disqualified.
- All entries submitted will not be returned.
Submission Deadline
- 15th March, 2010 (according to postal date)
Entry Fee
Media
- Painting — can be used with variety of media and styles which include Chinese painting, gouache painting, watercolor, drawing, sketching, pastel painting, print making, comics, etc.
Publication & Exhibition
- The winners, guidance teachers/instructors, schools and art organizations will be awarded a certificate in recognition of their contribution and support.
- The "Confidence Passbook" a catalogue, featuring the winning entries printed by the well-known American printer, [Lotus Printing Inc.] and published by the [Linda Publishing Ltd.] for publication. (The copyright of all submitted entries will belong to the organizer, and will be used for exhibition-related publicity and website record purposes.)
- The winning and outstanding entries will be exhibited in the Hong Kong or (and) Beijing.
Criteria of Adjudication
- Artwork will be judged by the entrant's creativity, skill, style and expression of the theme.
Individual Awards
- Winners will be awarded prizes according to entry’s category group. Each category will have first, second and third prize.
Awards for Teachers/Instructors
- Teachers/Instructors of First prize, Second prize and Third prize winners from each category group will be awarded "Instructor Awards".
Awards for Schools
- Most students from participating schools will be awarded a "School Participation Awards" (Gold, Silver and Bronze).
Awards for Art Education Organizations
- Most students from participating art education organizations will be awarded an "Art Education Organization Participation Awards" (Gold, Silver and Bronze).
(*All awards, or games are reserved, the organizer will retain the final decision.)
Winner Announcement
- Winners will be announced on April 2010. Winners will be notified by phone/ e-mail/ letter. Winners will also be listed at this website www.icehk.com.hk.

(1)〈Entry Form〉
- Please clearly complete the entry form in block letters.
(2)〈Personal Photo〉
- Each participant should submit a personal photo. Size should not exceed 5 x 5 (cm).
(3)〈Artwork〉
- Each entrant should not submit more than one entry. Size should not exceed 45 x 45 (cm).
- Entrant’s "entry label" should be cut and affixed on the back of entrant’s artwork. Writing on the artwork is not acceptable.
- All artwork submitted must be the original idea and creation of the credited entrant. Copying of any pre-existing image is not acceptable, whether visually or by tracing. Coloring in an outline printed or drawn by someone else is also not acceptable. Any artwork that is found to be not of the original work of the participant will be disqualified.

- Entrants are required to complete an entry form attached with personal photo. Submit completed form together with artwork to the following address by mail before 15th March, 2010:
